Atmospheric black metal is synonymous with contemplation, mystery, and emotion. One of the artists who I feel best embodies these characteristics is Eldamar hailing from Norway. We caught up with the artist for a brief look into the project.

From the majestic scenery of Northern Arizona has arisen a black metal artist who immediately captured my attention upon first listen – Majesty. Musically, majestic is one word that could be used to describe it, lending itself to an atmospheric and melodic approach to the genre.

Labyrinthus Stellarum is a science fiction infused black metal act out of Ukraine. Their blend of electronic music fused with atmospheric black metal is both magical and other-worldy, taking the listener to a new realm.

Givre is a solid act recently signed by Eisenwald (a great signing, in our opinion). Like the cold weather up North, Givre’s music has a chill that reverberates in your inner being, all while there is a hopeful element that is intangible, yet very real.

French artist Inherits The Void recently released their 2nd album titled ‘The Impending Fall of the Stars’, an all-out melodic black metal gem. For listeners new to the artist’s work, this is a pleasant surprise.
